Alaska seafood processors will face a labor crisis of unprecedent proportions

According to experts, there are no domestic workers willing to work in seafood processing in Alaska. Even in bonanza times, it has always been difficult to find serious workers. Usually, people find arduous to work seven days per week under unusual labor conditions.

Unsurprisingly, companies such as Peter Pan Seafoods, Ekuk Fisheries, Trident Seafoods, UniSea and Silver Bay have increased their Social Media activity lately. Most of their posts are now dedicated to job offers and conditions packages. It is predicted wages for those wanted workers will be higher than ever before.
